LIGHTNING

LIGHTNING

Storms are common in Syria and Palestine during the rainy season in spring and autumn. Lightning and lightning are frequently accompanied by heavy rain or sometimes hail.

In a figurative sense, lightning is a symbol of the terrible majesty of God (Rev. 4:5; 11:19; cf. Ex. 19:16); They also represent the judgments that will fall upon his enemies (Ps. 18:14; 144:6; Zech. 9:14).

The quick and unexpected coming of Christ in his glory is compared to lightning (Matt. 24:27). The power of God is manifested by the way in which he has given way to the lightning and the thunder (Jb. 28:26), which he releases according to his will (Jb. 38:35).
