OX
Oxen were used in biblical times as work animals for plowing (Deut. 22:10; 1 Kings 19:10) and for threshing (Deut. 25:4; Hos. 10:11).
The Decalogue prohibits coveting your neighbor’s ox (Ex. 20:17).
The meat was eaten (Mt. 22:4).
The law prohibits plowing with an ox and a donkey in the same team (Deut. 22:10) or muzzling the ox while it is threshing (Deut. 25:4).
