SET
(a) The third son of Adam and Eve, who called him Seth (“put in the place of”), because God gave him in the place of Abel, killed by Cain (Gen. 4:25; 5:3; 1 Chron. 1:1). Seth was the father of Enos, and died at 912 years of age (Gen. 5:6-8; Luke 3:38).
(b) Designation of the Moabites, authors of wars (Num. 24:17).
