City in the mountainous region of Ephraim, on the northern slope of Mount Gaash. It was personally assigned to Joshua, and the great leader of Israel was buried there (Joshua 19:50; 24:30; Judges 2:9).

Plausible identification: Tibnah, about 9 km northeast of Lidda and 13 km south-southwest of Kefr Hãris, where Samaritan tradition places the tombs of Joshua and Caleb.
