Wisdom From Above

Author: Charles Stanley Publishing House: Howard Books

Do you believe that God wants you to succeed? Well, He does. In fact, He has greater dreams and aspirations for you than you probably realize. And when you walk in the center of His will, you have His presence, power . . .

Wisdom From Above by Charles Stanley

Do you believe that God wants you to succeed? Well, He does. In fact, He has greater dreams and aspirations for you than you probably realize.

And when you walk in the center of His will, you have His presence, power, protection, promise, and provision to achieve the incredible goals He calls you to accomplish.

This is why it is so important that when you get up in the morning you get into God’s Word and spend time with Him.

Even spending just fifteen minutes with the Lord God of all creation will set the rudder of your day, will give you a sense of direction, and will energize you for whatever is ahead.

This devotional has been written to help you stay in Scripture—challenging you to read and meditate on God’s Word every day. Each month moves through the whole book of Proverbs, which has thirty-one chapters total.

The first day of the month features a verse from Proverbs chapter 1; the second day, from Proverbs chapter 2, and so on. A few pages in the back of the book have been reserved for your personal notes.

As you walk through this book of wisdom, ask God to speak to your heart and fill you with His wisdom and guidance.

Tell Him that you’re committed to doing whatever He asks of you. Then watch as He directs your path in ways and to heights you never dreamed possible.

Book cover of Wisdom From Above
Danger may find you in an hour when all seems most secure to you. Therefore, take heed to your ways, and watch unto prayer.

Vigilance on the Road: Protecting Our Holiness

Charles Spurgeon
There is a robber at every turn of the road to rob you of your jewels! There is a temptation in every mercy! There is a snare in every joy! If you ever reach heaven at last, it will be a miracle of divine grace, ascribed entirely to your Father’s power. Be on your guard!
Blessed be His name! He never gives up the search until the chosen are sought out successfully. They are not people sought today and cast away tomorrow.

Treasures in the Mud: The Grace of Being Searched

Charles H. Spurgeon
The surpassing grace of God is seen very clearly in that we were not only sought, but we were also sought out. People seek for something that is lost upon the floor of the house, but in such a case there is only seeking, not seeking out. The loss is more perplexing and the search more persevering when something is sought out.
What can you do to inspire others to defend the truth with both courage and love?

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Fighting for the Truth and Love

John MacArthur
In a world where truth is under attack, few rise to defend it. But let's remember that our apathy won't be an excuse before Christ. In Revelation, we see how He rebuked the churches that tolerated falsehood. Let's do the same, bravely defend the truth.
If you find your conscience vanishing, you must realize the seriousness of your condition and repent; beseech God for a clear, functioning conscience

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Holy Hatred of Sin

John MacArthur
We desperately need to recover a holy hatred of sin. We need to do this corporately as a church, but we also need to do it individually as believers. Sin is surely not a pleasant subject to study or preach on, but it is necessary.
Our task is to do what the psalmist David did: He didn’t worry about “great matters” or things “too profound” for him.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Calm And Quiet

David Jeremiah
According to medical researchers at Duke University, there is a “vicious cycle” involving insomnia, anxiety, and depression. It’s sort of a “which came first: the chicken or the egg?” scenario.
