For many people, the only memory they have of praying is the memory of someone saying the grace or blessing before a meal. Is this practice in the Bible? Indeed it is. The person most noted for practicing it was Jesus Himself. Several places in the Gospels mention Him giving thanks before eating. The Gospels mention that He “looked up to heaven” when He gave thanks.
