BALM
The resin of the balsam bush, with medicinal properties. Gilead was famous for its production. It is used as a proverb to set forth the healing God had for His people if they would truly turn to Him (Jer. 8:22; 46:11; 51:8). Merchants took it to Egypt and other places (Gen. 37:25; Ez. 27:17). Jacob sent some to Joseph (Gen. 43:11).
